To obtain this qualification, a diving watch must possess certain characteristics:
. be equipped with a device for detecting immersion time;
. present themselves with excellent visibility, as some elements of the dial must remain visible at least 25 centimetres away even in dark conditions, as often happens in deep dives;
. be anti-magnetic;
. resistant to impacts and salt water;
. resist thermal shock;
. ensure airtightness.

Movement:
CITIZEN production caliber 8203 - Mechanical with AUTOMATIC winding.
When using an automatic watch, the mainspring is automatically wound by the oscillating movement of a counterweight, positioned inside the "machine", activated by the change in position of the watch on the wrist.
When the mainspring is fully wound, the power reserve of the watch will be approximately 40 hours.

This automatic device does not exclude the possibility of manual winding by rotating the winding crown.
